THE ZEBRA CROSSING

So I was going home after placement and as I stood at the bus stop and I saw something. A short girl was crossing the zebra crossing and next to her was a car and a bus waiting for her to come off the road so they can proceed. I had to say thank you to God because He is good. If you lived in Ghana you just know that there is nothing such as a zebra crossing. For Ghanaians, it’s just some white lines drawn on the road for vibes. But in the UK, people really follow this zebra crossing rules so today this blog is about UK zebra crossings.

A zebra crossing are lines drawn on the road where vehicles must stop to allow a pedestrian to cross the road. Looking at the girl cross, it was telling me that God can let your enemies and people around you stop and watch you cross. People will pave ways just for you to cross and get to your end destination. Just like in the Bible, a path was made for Moses and the Israelites in order for them to get to their destination. That is the same way God is going to stop everything and everyone so you can pass. The thing is, no matter how fast the car is coming towards a zebra crossing or how busy the road is, when they get there, they need to stop. God is saying to you, no matter how tough the situation is, or how slow the results are, or how quick everything seems to fall out of place, when you reach where God wants you to go, everyone would have to stop to see you cross.

And the amazing part of crossing the road is people are watching you. The drivers watch you. Everywhere is clear for you. You are in the middle of it. You are the centre of attention at that point. If they are on your left or right, they are still watching you cross. The Bible says in Psalm 23:5 “He prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies”. If they want your happiness, or sadness, or they want to see you fail, when that table is prepared, all they will have the chance to do is see you rise. All they have the chance to do is to see you glow and grow. They have to stop and stare. No they have to stop, stare and endure the pain of your success. They need to see where God is taking you. Oh listen they need to see your footsteps. They need to trace your journey. They need to understand that yesterday was not it but today is it. Oh they need to see that our glorious God’s hand is upon you and your family. They will stop and stare. I say this again and again, they will stop and stare. You are a winner. You will cross. You will cross. And you know what you should do when crossing? Catwalk. Moonwalk. Swimming in the road. Hold your head high on a six inch heels. You will finish the journey of crossing and everyone will stop and see you move.

The people that rejected you will stop and watch you cross. The people that said you will never make it will stop and watch you cross. The people that laughed at your business will stop and watch you cross. The friends that thought without them you won’t survive will stop and watch you cross. The people that said you will never get married, you will never have children, you will never start a business or buy your own house or finish university will stop and watch you cross. May God empower you with this blog today, as you walk with courage. May God bless you throughout the week.

Prayer: Our God that reigns in Heaven and on earth we thank you and we glorify your name. God your word made us understand that you have a plan for us and it’s a good plan so today as we prepare to enter that plan, Lord give us the strength to endure and walk under you. Give us the power to walk till we reach the road. And now when we reach that road that has the zebra crossing, let us be able to cross with your name and acknowledgment in our mouths. We thank you Lord, in Jesus name we pray with thanksgiving, Amen.
