Two years ago on the 1st of September I was led to post my first ever blog…wow! How time flies. I was so nervous posting it but I did and to be honest all I can say is thank you God. Since that day, everything has just been a lesson and eye opening. Just very grateful to God.
So today I wanted to share this blog. I, Sarah, Miss I hate walking decided to go hiking. To be honest after two minutes of walking I just said to myself maybe it’ll be best to go back and sleep. In that moment I also said, "if I was in Egypt during the time God rescued the Israelites from Egypt, I’m sure Moses would have left me behind cause walking isn’t really my passion". Yes, I hate walking. Not because I’m lazy, I call it “preserve yourself indoors and save your energy”. So back to my hiking experience. I saw this mountain and I said that’s my goal. I want to get to the top of that mountain. So I was walking and walking and all of a sudden I just got too tired to continue that walk. I was half way there so I chose to sit down and just catch my breath cause come on, I’m not getting paid to do this. So I sat there and I was just looking at the beautiful creation of God, it looked beautiful I can’t lie. But the thing was, I was starting to get comfortable in that spot. But that wasn’t my aim. So I chose to continue walking. I went higher and higher till I got somewhere and saw like 100 sheep and they were staring straight into my eyes so I said not a chance. I’m not getting attacked by these animals. So I waited till I saw some people then I followed them. At the end I got to where I wanted to go.
As I was going through all of this, the Holy Spirit was teaching me something about life. He said, in life, to get to a higher position or a place you wish to be, you have to sometimes be prepared to do things that are outside your comfort zone. You have to be willing to climb mountains, as high or as steep as they are. What He also told me is that, no one expects you to always have the energy to continue your journey without resting. If rest is needed, rest. However, don’t get comfortable in your resting state, make sure you always get back up and continue your journey. The Bible says "the race is not to the swift" (Ecclesiastes 9:11) and also in Ecclesiastes 7:8 it says “finishing is better than starting”. The journey won’t be easy, the journey is actually never easy. How would you proudly see your accomplishments if the journeys are always easy to take. You appreciate things when you know they never came easy to you. If I didn’t gain anything going up those mountains, I know I learnt something at least. Life isn’t a flat surface. Life comes like the mountain, harder to get to the top but once you’re at the top, you can look down and see the routes and paths you took to get up there then you give thanks to God for the grace to reach there. Never stop, never quit! Reach the mountain top. Glory be to the glorious name of God.
Prayer: Dear Father, we thank and bless Your name. We give You all the praise. As we journey through life, may You be our guide and led us through all the paths in life. Any mountain that You have set for us to reach, may we be able to reach in Jesus name, Amen.

God bless you Sarah 🙏 ❤
