One of my favourite Bible stories is the Tower of Babel which is found in Genesis 11:1-9 but I’ll start my blog from Genesis 9:1. So in the time of Noah, after the flood, the Lord told Noah and his sons to “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth.” This is like a command that should be followed by Noah and his descendants. Now jumping to the main story. The story of the Tower started by letting us know that there were people who spoke the same languages and understood each other very well. As they travelled, they found a land and decided to build a great city with a tower that will reach the skies and make them famous for it. This will prevent them from scattering all over the world. God saw this and said nope this can’t be so He confused them by giving everyone a different language so they don’t understand each other. They all stopped building the tower and scattered all over the world.
Someone might ask “why did God do this?” “These people are working in unity so why?” “Is it cause He doesn’t want anyone to get as high as He is?”. This is where I draw your mind back to Genesis 9:1 where God gave a command to be “fruitful, multiply and fill the earth”. How can people fill the earth when their plan is to settle together at one place? The flood wiped out the world (“Everything that breathed and lived on dry land died”- Genesis 7:22 NLT) so these people were meant to rebuild the world. Imagine they all chose to settle together, would there have been Ghana? France? Italy? I mean we would have all probably still be living in this Tower of Babel and chilling like it’s nothing. So God had to confuse them and force them to scatter and fulfil this will.
So what do I mean by Tower of Babel friendship? Some of us are in a friendship group where separation should have happened a long time ago but we have accepted it and are dwelling in it. Because of our friendship groups, we are unable to scatter and do the will of God. You’ll see our future Prophetess with someone that has said to herself, I will enjoy life till I die. I mean you can enjoy life but there are limits to it. There are things that isn’t right according to the Bible. So imagine being in this friendship, and now it’s time to scatter and conquer but you’re just there enjoying and dying spiritually. We need to understand that sometimes, it’s fine to move on. It’s time to call it quits. It’s fine to accept that you can’t be who you truly want to be and do what you really want to do. You can love someone but do it from a distance if they seem to compromise your style.
We need to understand that our goals are different from each other and our purpose in life are different from each other. Even being a twin I know that my purpose is different from my brother’s yet alone my friend. You and your friends may speak the same language now but spiritually, you guys speak different languages. You guys are assigned to do different things. It’s time you realised that and took actions. I’m not saying all your friends are bad or that you need to separate from them. I’m just saying we need to make sure we are in a group that speaks similar languages. A group that understands each other. Not a group where you’re saying let’s pray and the other person is saying sleeping makes more sense. Or you’re saying let’s go to church but they’re saying no the club is “litter” and popping so let’s reschedule church. Or you’re in a group where you’re nice to people but your friends are rude unnecessarily. You guys are clearly speaking different languages and you need to scatter. Get someone that when you say let’s go to the club they are on your level…see yes that makes sense. Or someone that when you say let’s go and evangelise they’ll be the first one there. Speak the same language as your friends. Don’t let someone force you to speak their language. You need to know who speaks your language and you need to know fast.
Please if you don’t want to lose your friend this is a prayer topic you shouldn’t participate in cause you never know what God will instruct you to do so be prepared what you ask for. Pray and ask God that may He separate you from anyone that you need to be separated from. May He cause confusion that will alert you to move on. You get it? That should be your prayer topic for the week and I pray the Lord will show you results. May God bless you all.

Saw this motivational speech and I loved it so hopefully you do too.
