THE PERFECT DISGUISE

You will be so shocked in ways in which the Holy Spirit takes to communicate to people. It could be through just looking at the sky or eating. Always be alert on what God is trying to get your attention on. We are in a new month and I pray for testimonies and abundance throughout the whole month in Jesus name. Today I’ll start off by showing you two pictures; picture A and picture B. So here is picture A.

Take a few seconds to look at it well. Deeply look at it and tell me what you think is wrong with it? Can you see it? I bet you can’t.

Now here is picture B.

Tell me what you think is wrong with it. Can you see the angelic light thing on the left hand side? (The story to that angelic mark will be shared one day...it is a funny quick short story). Now look at picture A and B. They are both the same laptop. The same screen. But because the wallpaper covered it and it blended in, you couldn’t really tell what was wrong with it.

We tend to always find a way to disguise our pain, our problems, our guilt, our fears and our sins. We cover our wounds, and hid behind it. The dictionary defines disguise as “giving a different appearance in order to conceal one’s identity”. Conceal is to hide, to cover up, to disguise, to bury, to mask. I know everyone as a child watched Spider-Man. Spider-Man had a costume on just like other superheroes. When Spider-Man wore his costume, no one was able to tell that was Peter Parker. He lived two lives. One as himself and one as someone else. When we don’t deal with our pain, our problems, our guilt, we are living two lives. One as someone that seems fine and another as someone that is carrying a lot of burdens. In the moment, it may look like you put makeup over your problems and just smiled. But what if that day it rains and the makeup come off? (Metaphorically speaking). What if that band aid peels off? What if that costume got destroyed and now you cannot hide behind anything but to face the truth. How did you think you can handle it. Covering your problems doesn't mean they are gone. It just means you are hiding from it.

It is hard to handle something at an unexpected time. If you’re not ready, it makes everything feel like it’s crushing down on you. Disguising is always the easy approach to take. "Let me put it behind my head and move on". No no no. Deal with it. No matter how stressful it is. No matter how embarrassing it is. No matter how painful it is. If you leave it unsolved, it becomes bigger. When you pour water on the floor and you don’t wipe it quickly, it spreads. The longer you leave it, the more effect it has on your life. This might sound very strange to you but own up to your mistakes, to your problems, to your instabilities. Your trouble, your pain, your anxieties, your fears may give birth to something greater if not taken care off.

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV says And by His stripes we are healed.By Jesus stripes we are healed. Jesus went through pain and embarrassment. He was beaten for no reason. Do you know why I’m using this verse? “By his stripes”. He got these stripes from being beaten up. Other Bible versions says “from his wounds we are healed”. We all saw the stripes as a mark or scars, but we all got saved through that. If Jesus wasn’t beaten up, the verse might have said we are healed by Jesus. But the verse says we are healed by his stripes. Through Jesus' pain. Through his sacrifice. The Bible didn’t not miss out the part about how we got healed, we got saved, we got delivered by the wounds of Jesus. That part is essential and cannot be omitted. There was a benefit through Jesus’ scars. Who said your wounds cannot bear beneficial purposes. Through your fears God could reveal to you that he will always protect you and through gaining this strength, you can be an advocate to people and tell them that “why fear when you have God?” This can become your testimony. Disguising yourself will not solve the problem.

Just like the picture, everyone sees you as perfect with no concerns but really and truly you are the second picture. Let it out and deal with it with the help of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you deal with all your problems. Don’t walk around carrying this baggage with you and portraying that there is nothing wrong with you. Let people see that in life, you go through problems which is fine. Why? Cause that is not the end and God is in charge. There is power in your situations. Don’t be overwhelmed by it. Use it as a weapon. May God bless you and may you have a lovely week.

Prayer: Father Lord we thank you and we bless your name. God, today we seek for your help and guidance. Do not let us hide behind our problems but help us stand in front of them. Give us the strength to stand in front of it without falling. Let us use our problems as our weapon. At the end of it all, we know our testimonies will become bigger and sweeter. This we ask in Jesus name, amen.
