Isaiah 60:1-2

So I was reading Isaiah 60:1-2 this morning and the verse said Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples… Reading this verses I started to think about Matthew 5:14 which says You are the light of the world. We live in a world where until God has opened our eyes we only see things in a carnal perspective. Like the Bible says there are arrows that flies by day but do you actually see arrows when you walk around? This is because our eyes are not opened to see those things. With that said, I believe that we live in a world which is covered by darkness. We might have the sun and moon and stars which produces light but we walk in darkness daily.

There are three types of people that live in this world. So we have:

-The people living in complete darkness

-The people with dimmed lights

-The people with full shining bright lights.

So the people living in complete darkness are people who have accepted completely to live according to the world. They don’t pray, they don’t read the Bible, they have no knowledge about God. These people have been living in full ignorance. They just wake up and sleep on full vibes.

The people with the dimmed are the people who try to get closer to God but only try once on a while. They want to read the Bible but they barely do it. Prayer is once in a while. They know God but they build the relationships then with time it goes back down. Like a rollercoaster, up and down.

Then the people with full blasting lights. I mean we are able to spot them from across the room. When the darkness has covered them we can spot their lights from afar. These people have great relationships with God…like even when it’s hard they try because they don’t want to lose that relationship.

As lights in our dark world, we need to shine brightly. Have you ever turned on your flash in darkness? In the dark, the flash is the only source of light. All the attention comes to the source of light. Which is a problem sometimes. When you are the light in darkness, there’s all the attention on you. People will try to dim your light, all kind of eyes will be on you but don’t give up hope, don’t turn off your light because you cannot be hidden! You need to shine. Keep shinning. Don’t join in the darkness. Be special and bright everyday. When it’s hard, keep shinning. Keep pushing and keep going. Let your light shine for Jesus and let your light shine for the world. May God bless you.

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father we thank you today. It’s not by my might or by my power but it’s by Your grace. Lord we pray that today as we read this you keep making our lights shine. May any dimmed light be rekindled in Jesus name. May people differentiate between us in Jesus name, amen.
