OUR LAZARUS IS NOT DEAD

John 11:1-44

Lazarus was a friend of Jesus and the brother of Mary and Martha and Jesus loved them so much. When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, he did not panic or rush to his bedside. He stayed where he was. After two days, he decided to go and see his friend that he says is sleeping. He got there and was told that Lazarus died four days ago. However, Jesus still said no no listen, he is sleeping. When Jesus told Martha: “your brother will rise again”, Martha said “Yes I know but on the last day is when this will happen”. Jesus told her in John 11: 25 “I am the resurrection. I am life. Everyone who believes in me will have life, even if they die". Martha then said yes Jesus I believe you. When Martha and Mary and everyone around was sad and was crying, it troubled Jesus and he wept. If I stopped reading from that verse, I would have thought that once Jesus cried maybe it meant there is no hope anymore. But when you keep reading further, Jesus in front of the opened tomb shouted “Lazarus, come out!” and Lazarus, the guy that had died for four days came out.

I’m here to tell you today that whatever you thought was dead, at the mention of His name, it will come back to life. Jesus resurrected a person that was dead for four days. As I said early, the Bible said when Jesus was told his friend was dying, he did not rush to his sickbed. He waited. Just cause you are calling Jesus to your situation right now and he hasn’t appeared does not mean he is not coming. Listen, he is waiting for the right moment to show his glory. John 11:15 says that Jesus said “And I am glad I was not there. I am happy for you because now you will believe in me. We will go to him now”. Jesus wants the people that are looking at you crying, laughing at you, the ones that are saying “where is your God now” to see his glory upon your life. We need to learn how to endure and have faith.

He is not here now but he is coming. Keep praying over the death of your job, your financial deaths, your educational deaths, your marital deaths, your relationship deaths, it will take a day for Jesus to come, or a week, or a year, but when he comes, he will resurrect your situations like Lazarus. Your Lazarus is not dead, your Lazarus is sleeping. Dear brothers and sisters, it is not over yet. Let your faith rise in these times. God is about to show his glory in your life. Prayer: Our Heavenly Father we thank you for this day. We thank you for assuring us that everything that is dead is not dead and that you are waiting for the right time to show your glory. Lord, as we pray, resurrect our Lazarus. As your word says you are the resurrection and life, anyone who believes in you will have life even if they are dead. We believe in this and we ask you to give us more life daily and resurrect us daily. We bless your name Lord, in Jesus name I pray, amen.
