HOME ALONE

If you never watched Home Alone, hmmm no comment. I mean how can you not watch home alone? Quick summary. There was this naughty little boy that got left at home alone by his family. Two burglars (thieves) tried to rob him but since he was so clever and he knew everything about his house, he was able to set traps which prevented the thieves from stealing from him and eventually, they got arrested. I think home alone 1,2,3,4 all has similiar stories lines.

How is home alone connected to anything? You see this little boy was able to defend his house because he was aware of the ins and outs of his house. Let’s take your house for instance. You have lived there for a while so you know where everything is. If I come to your house and you tell me to get a plate, I might not know where it is. As a Christian, our bodies are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19). Just as you’d protect your house, you have to protect your body as well cause your body is more special than you think. I mean the Holy Spirit lives there too. But to protect yourself, you’d need to know yourself. You need to know what triggers you, what annoys you, what makes you happy, what leads you to giving in easily. When you become aware of yourself, the devil will find it difficult to have access to you. When the devil who is a thief tries to come in to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10), you already know which traps to set for them, you already know which verses you can use to defend yourself, you already know thousand ways to say no.

The thing about Home alone is as a child, your parents are responsible for you. But when your parents are not there physically, will you be able to cope? Some of us are still under our parents’ anointing…I mean we are depending on our mothers to pray for us. We are depending on our fathers to pray for us but we need to understand that, we won’t always be young. We need to grow. Our parents have their own temple to protect. Stop making it a burden for your parents. Grow your own wings, fight your own fight. Know yourself for yourself. Don’t be ignorant and let the devil find a way into your temple. Be the keeper of your temple. Remember, your body belongs to you and therefore you need to know yourself, in order to protect yourself. You cannot protect something you don’t know. May God bless you.

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father we thank you for today. Lord today we pray that you help us as we learn about ourselves and protect ourselves from the devil. May we take over our bodies in Jesus name.
