I was listening to this song today and the singer said “we will exchange the cross for a crown” and it motivated me and I just wanted to share it with everyone.
So we all know the cross. By looking at it from Christian movies and how it was said in the Bible, we can imagine how heavy it was. Let’s use the cross as a symbol of our life. The cross is heavy and because Jesus carried it, we have to carry it too. Let’s say the cross represents pain, struggles, losses, anxiety, stress, anger, hatred and all the others. Jesus was forced to carry all of this till he was nailed to it. In life we have our own crosses to carry. We have a lot going on in our lives and it is heavy and it is a burden and our body hurts from carrying it. But today, I want to encourage you that carrying this cross in the right way will get you a crown.
Let’s see it this way. When Jesus was given the cross to carry, he carried it without saying a word. Imagine He decided to complain and that he refused, we would not have seen the results we saw later on. He died and rose again to sit on the right hand side of God “in the Kingdom”. If you are saying no to your cross today, you are blocking the future testimonies. The endurance phase is difficult but the result at the end will be beautiful.
Royalties wear crowns. If you walked in the street and you saw someone wearing a crown with three bodyguards next to him or her, will you not automatically assume that they are royalty? Or am I the only person that will think that? The crown represents the fact that you are the daughter of the Heavenly Father and the Most High. He that sits on His throne in the Heavenly Kingdom. The crowns drags eyes towards you and the crown keeps you in the spotlight. We will exchange the cross with the crown. It says in James 1:12 that “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” Do not be broken by life or don’t leave the cross and take a shortcut. Instead, carry it, endure through, and receive your victory and your crown. Have a lovely week.
Prayer: Our Heavenly Father we thank you today. We thank you for the grace and mercies you have shown us. God we pray that you give us the strength to carry this cross. We know it is hard and we know it discourages us but let us not see it in that way. Let us see it in a way that at the end, we will benefit from this and receive our crown. We bless your name Lord, amen.
