A GOD CENTRED PERSON

I used to hear this a lot…”God has to be the centre of everything you do”. Well yes I agree but how can I do that? How do I know if God is in the centre of my life and everything I do. So I was reading this prayer on my Bible app and I picked out 4 points that I think are the main areas to focus on when aiming to make God the centre of your life and when these are tackled, everything starts to fall into place and God becomes the centre of your life. These points are:
Your thought
Your ideas
Your intention
Your action
Thought: To become a Christ centred person, your thoughts has to be in accordance to the Word of God and everything else that pleases God. When you think, think God. Normally when you think, is the thought true, honest, just, pure, lovely, or of good report? (Philippians 4:8). If the thought doesn’t come under any of these, reassess your thought.
Ideas: We all have ideas in the amazing brains God gave us. To centre God in your life, your ideas needs to be an idea that will glorify God. If you think to be a farmer, what is the idea behind the thought? How is that idea going to please God? How is God going to benefit from that idea? If your idea is to open a homeless shelter, are you thinking to do so only cause you might receive some benefits or you’re doing it from a place of wanting to help vulnerable people?
Intentions: As said in the idea paragraph, what is the motive behind what you do? Is your intention to become famous for what you do or it there a benefit to everyone except yourself? Let’s say if you intend to be a singer in church, are you doing that just so people can say “Your voice is great” or you’re doing that to bring glory to God and attract people to Christ? When you help someone outside, are you looking to see a crowd before you do it? Are you always waiting for a well done for everything you do? What are your intentions?
Action: One of my favourite phrases: “Action speaks louder than words”. You cannot say I love God, I want to do what God wants me to do, I am Mister/Madam Christ Ambassador and be living a different life. The Bible say in Matthew 7:20 that “ye shall know them by their fruits”. Let your fruit represent the tree. Don’t come from an orange tree and be showing mango behaviours. Let someone see you and know you’re definitely from an orange tree. Think of your actions before you do it. Let your actions showcase God.
Think of God in everything you do. How is your ideas, intentions and actions going to benefit God? When you start comparing your thoughts, actions, ideas and intentions to Christ, does it make sense? If it does well done. If it doesn’t, please join me as we change our ways. May God bless you this week as you journey through becoming a God centred individual. Have a lovely week.
Prayer: Our Father in Heaven we thank you for your grace and mercies upon our lives. God we pray this day that you help us centre our thoughts, our ideas, our intentions and actions on you. Whatever we do let us think of how it will benefit you first before we do it in Jesus name we pray, amen.
